And once again, it’s time for the Friday YouTube Digest- the one post you can count on being up without fail every Friday! And with that said, this is the first YouTube Digest to be posted under Smithtopia’s all-new layout. So I think it’s time to get started.
This week’s digest includes a new crazy video from Mike Tompkins, turkey dubstep, iPhones on a subway, and dominoes. Hopefully this week’s digest will make up for last week’s shorter post. These videos are all great, so I hope you enjoy, and as always, if you find an interesting video or post a video you’d like me to feature, feel free to contact me using the Contact Me page, or comment on this post and let me know. As always, enjoy the videos, and I hope all of you have a great weekend.
1. Turkey Dubstep
Probably my favorite video for this week. I found this thanks to a post on Facebook, and I’m so glad I did. Just watch this video, and if it doesn’t make you laugh, then I don’t think you have a sense of humor. These turkeys are quite hilarious as they attempt to create dubstep beats. Enjoy.
2. Mike Tompkins- “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”
As always, Mike Tompkins never ceases to amaze with his acappella covers of songs using sounds made only by his mouth. In his latest video, he covers Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” and accompanies it with a bizarre video that will leave you wondering what you just watched. So enjoy the sounds of Mike Tompkins…
3. Bert and Ernie Gangsta Rap
For number 3 on this week’s digest, we’ll head back to 2008, when some ingenious person edited some Sesame Street footage of Bert and Ernie and added M.O.P.’s song “Ante Up” behind the video. The result is a hilarious video that looks as if Bert and Ernie are rapping extremely hard. I hope you enjoy, because the lipsyncing is almost perfect and it’s just a hilarious video. (Does contain swears)
4. Domino Tribute to Nintendo
While I don’t do much video gaming, I’m still a fan of Nintendo. And so are these guys. 30,000 dominoes tell an abbreviated history of Nintendo’s gaming in this week’s fourth video, and my goodness just thinking about the work that went into this video is mind-boggling. So sit back and enjoy this great tribute to Nintendo and some of its franchises to the tune of 30,000 dominoes and some of the classic game theme songs. Enjoy.
5. Atomic Tom- “Take Me Out” on a Subway… with iPhone Instrument Apps
Now I know what you’re thinking after reading the title- how could this video possibly be real? Well, real or not, I still think this is a great video. Obviously it’s a bit staged due to the several iPhones used to film the performance, but you have to admit the rest of the video is absolutely great, and it has become one of my all-time favorite YouTube videos. It’s so entertaining to see these guys on a subway… well, I’ll just let you watch the video and enjoy it for yourselves.
So that does it for the digest this week. Have a great weekend, and don’t forget to submit your videos, share this post, and leave comments. It’s as easy as clicking the buttons below!
